Inpatient Therapy Services for Your Facility
TERRIO currently performs more than 25,000 patient treatments per year by providing physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and training 7 days per week and 364 days per year at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.
TERRIO is contracted for inpatient therapy with the largest hospital in town, Memorial Hospital. Memorial Hospital is also a certified stroke center, certified STEMI receiving center, Thrombectomy receiving center, and a JOINT-commissioned accredited total joint center.

Inpatient Therapy Services
TERRIO provides inpatient therapy for Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, which includes Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, as well as management of the entire program. We also have a Certified Ergonomics Specialist who offers workstation assessment and intervention to the employees at the hospital.
TERRIO performs ongoing training for Bakersfield Memorial staff in body mechanics, transfer training, and mechanical lift equipment training. Daily, our therapists provide evaluation, treatment, and care plan progression toward meeting the functional goals of our patients. We treat countless diagnoses which include stroke, heart attack, total joint replacement, orthopedic injuries, and general medical complications such as pneumonia, cancer, amputations, post-abdominal surgery, COPD, CHF, and many others. We also provide the hospital with crutch and walker training for same-day outpatient surgeries and outpatient recorded video swallow studies performed by Speech Pathology.
Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists address patient mobility such as bed mobility, transfers, gait training (walking), balance training, and leg therapeutic exercise.
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists address a patient’s ability to perform his or her activities of daily living (ADLs). ADLs include dressing, bathing, toileting, and, of course, the ability to move from a bed or chair to the kitchen or bathroom to perform the “occupation of living”.
Speech-Language Pathology
Our Speech Pathologists address a patient’s ability to communicate effectively, to swallow food, drink, and their own saliva safely, as well as addressing cognitive issues.
